US Ambassador Kelly C. Degnan made a comment regarding the health condition of former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. Kelly C. Degnan notes, that debates must not be held, when human life is in danger and relevant steps should be taken.
"We are very concerned about the health condition of Mikheil Saakashvili. Debates must not be held when human life is in danger. He should have the opportunity to receive proper treatment and medical care. We trust the panel of doctors organized by the Public Defender, who assesses that Mikheil Saakashvili's health condition is critical. He needs comprehensive, multiprofile medical care in order to improve his health condition. Accordingly, he must receive proper treatment at the appropriate facility.
As you know, there is a great interest towards this issue from our embassy, as well as from Washington, and from the friends of Georgia. The former ambassador to Georgia, Mr. Ian Kelly, also appealed to Georgian authorities to take ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili to a civilian hospital," the US ambassador said.
