2022 Draft Budget Provides Capital Expenditures of GEL 5,9 MLN – Finance Minister

The draft budget for 2022 provides capital expenditures of GEL 5,9 million, which is a historical maximum, - Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili told TV-Imedi.

He spoke about the main directions of the next year's draft budget.

“Healthcare is the main direction, where a number of new programs will be launched. In addition, there is a wide range of list in the social sector, which funding will also increase. This includes pension growth, as well as financial assistance to children in socially vulnerable families, each child will get financial assistance of GEL 100 per month”, - said Lasha Khutsishvili.

As he noted, funding for infrastructure projects will also significantly increase.

"The main components in this direction are the financing of road infrastructure; improvement of regional infrastructure and rehabilitation of water supply system," - said Khutsishvili.

According to him, funding is growing in the education sector as well. Namely, GEL 190 million will be spent on the rehabilitation of the infrastructure. GEL 500 million is provided for the management of COVID-19 next year.
