The head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze declares, that 46% of healthcare workers have got the first jab, and most of them are doctors.
"They often say why doctors do not take the jabs. We have 71 thousand people in the base, which includes medical staff. To date, 46% of them took the first jab. The medical staff was the most affected. Most of them are doctors and that is 64%. Then comes the non-medical staff and 45% of them is vaccinated, 34% of the nurses and 21% of the junior medical staff took the jabs,” said Amiran Gamkrelidze.
As for the pace of vaccination, as the head of the NCDC says, one of the main directions is to maximize the vaccination rate.
"It will be good if we go up to 26 thousand vaccines per day. August-September-October is critical in this regard, and if we reach 30,000 vaccines a day, we will seriously stop the epidemic and slow down the pace of epidemic development," Gamkrelidze said.
