5 Factors That Investors Attach Importance To – Research

The Secretariat of the Investor Council, established by the EBRD and the government, has published a study prepared by PwC that includes economic recovery strategies and a study of investor expectations.
 
According to the document, investors in the post-pandemic period in selecting a location for their activities prioritize the workforce qualification. According to PwC, foreign companies participated in the study, most of which are not currently represented in Georgia. In the survey process, investors were given more than 20 criteria, rated on a scale of 0 to 5.
 
The list of key factors influencing the choice of investment location in a post-pandemic situation surveyed by 93 investors in the study is as follows:

1) Existence of qualified staff - 4.25 points;
2) Connections (existence of airports, international connections) - 3.83 points;
3) Quality education system - 3.78 points;
4) Adherence to transparent standards of activity by the business community and fair competition - 3.71 points;
5) Quality infrastructure - transport, logistics, etc. - 3.54 points.

In addition, the survey interviewed 52 businesses operating in areas identified by the government as a priority. The answers to the question of which elements are critical for you when choosing a location for investment in the post-pandemic period are as follows:

1) Existence of qualified staff - 4.37 points;
2) Quality education system - 3.98 points;
3) Infrastructure and connections (existence of airports, international connections) - 3.75 points;
4) Environmental and Social Management (ESG) Practices - 3.46 points;
5) Adherence to transparent standards of activity by the business community and fair competition - 3.46 points.
