55 Countries and $82.4 Million – Wine Export Statistics

In January-May 2021, up to 36.4 million bottles (0.75 l) of wine were exported from Georgia to 55 countries worldwide, which is 15% more than in the same period of 2020. According to the National Wine Agency, export earnings amounted to $ 82.4 million, an increase of 8% over the same period last year.
 
Exports increased to strategic Georgian wine markets: Poland - 11% (2,258,486 bottles), Lithuania - 63% (439,494 bottles), USA - 26% (402,942 bottles), Estonia - 3% (258,640 bottles) and Germany - 23% (314,703 bottles).

Export growth is also significant in the following countries: Ukraine - 6% (4,162,515 bottles), Canada - 54% (118,006 bottles), Kazakhstan - 80% (1,368,220 bottles), Russia - 17% (22,421,656 bottles), Israel - 95% (236,996 bottles) ), Azerbaijan - 41% (115,247 bottles), Mongolia - 600% (232,920 bottles), Czech Republic - 900% (52,956 bottles), Turkey - 324% (61,110 bottles), Sweden - 20% (48,836 bottles), etc. 

The five exporting countries are: Russia - 22,421,656 (increase 17%), Ukraine - increase 6% (4,162,515 bottles), Poland - 2,258,486 (increase 11%), China - 1,864,351 bottles (decrease 3%) and Kazakhstan - 1,368,220 (increase 80%).

In addition to Georgian wine, in the first five months of 2021, 13.5 million bottles (0.5 l) of brandy and 209 thousand bottles (0.5 l) of chacha were exported from Georgia. As a result, revenues from the brand's exports, compared to the same period last year, increased by 3% and reached $ 23 million, while the value of exported chacha reached $ 567 thousand, revenue growth was 30%.

During the mentioned period, 270 companies exported different volumes of Georgian wine and alcoholic beverages.

"In total, in January-May, Georgia gained $130 million as a result of exports of wine, brandy, chacha, brandy alcohol and bottled brandy, which is 8% more than the same period last year," the statement said.
