China is the top trading partner of Georgia for the last several years and occupies first place in terms of exports. The trend remained the same in 11M2021. Exports made from Georgia to China made up USD 569.1 million, which is 14.9% of the total exports.

Most of the goods exported to China are copper ores and concentrates (USD 462.2 million, 239,191 tons) , As well as precious metals (USD 39.6 million, $ 9,780 tons).

Ana Kvaratskhelia, chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Export Development Association declares, that exports growth mainly in copper ores and precious metals must be explored.

"The increase in exports to China may depend on Free Trade Agreement with this country, which provides tariff reliefs on a number of products.

Exports of ores and copper have increased a lot, which is grown 5 times in the last few years, and these are incredible numbers. 80% of exports to China account for these products, and more research is needed here - why these products are most-in-demand," said the chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Export Development Association.
