As of today, over 95,000 Georgian citizens have registered for the seasonal employment program in Germany, -State Employment Promotion Agency told BM.GE.
However, the German side published 300 vacancies for that time. The Agency explains that they expect a "significant" increase in the number of vacancies from Germany in the future, but they cannot name a specific number. Consequently, more than 315 people competing for each vacancy.
Registration for the program started on February 15 and will continue throughout the year. Georgian citizens will be able to find temporary legal employment in German labor market for a maximum of 90 days.
Seasonal works in the agricultural sector will start in April 2021 in Germany. According to the available information, the minimum wage for them is set at 9.5 EUR per hour. The employee will have to pay for housing and food himself. The employer is only required to purchase a health insurance policy.
