The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting between the representatives of the Ministry and Ambassador Simon Geissbühler, Head of Peace and Security at the State Secretariat of the FDFA.
The sides discussed in detail the security, human rights and humanitarian situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. Discussions focused on the dynamics of the Geneva International Discussions and the need to achieve tangible results for the peaceful settlement of the conflict. The Georgian side briefed the Swiss representatives on the intensive work carried out within the framework of the Government Commission for the Development and Implementation of the State Strategy for De-Occupation and Peaceful Conflict Resolution.
The sides also discussed issues of cooperation in the field of human rights, as well as within international organizations.
The Georgian side thanked the Swiss side for their strong support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and noted the important role of Switzerland as a mediator in relations with the Russian Federation.
