"A national medicine laboratory will be set up to study the quality of both local and imported pharmaceutical products," Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said in a "Minister Hour" speech at the Parliament.
According to the Minister, the relevant budget and infrastructure have already been mobilized for the establishment of the drug laboratory.
"Now we have to apply to European laboratories to check the quality of medicines, which is an important barrier for continuous control of the quality of medicines. Appropriate budget and infrastructure have already been mobilized to set up the drug laboratory locally. The quality of medicines, in addition to safety and effectiveness, is one of the tools of price regulation.
The above-mentioned control processes will be as intensive and transparent as possible, in order to finally end the behind-the-scenes lobbying, which does not fully serve the best interests of our population, ”said Ekaterine Tikaradze.
