Abolition of wearing face mask on the public transport , as well as in the medical institutions is not considered, - Amiran Gamkrelidze, the director of the National Center for Disease Control said.
According to him, as a result of observations on COVID-statistics in the current month and also in the first half of June, there may be talk of abolishing wearing a facemask on public transport, but not in medical institutions.
"Facemask is the most powerful weapon to fight the pandemic, along with the vaccine, despite the fact that the epidemic situation in the country is calm and stable. Daily new cases range from 50 to 150. Most of the cases are mild.
The workload of medical facilities is low and the situation is fully manageable today, however this should not discourage us as the pandemic is not over yet. It will end when the situation in the world calms down. The number of new cases is still being recorded every day in about 70 countries," Gamkrelidze said.
