On behalf of the Government in its entirety, I once again thank our esteemed, honorable doctors for their heroism, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated in his speech during today's presentation of Accessible Quality Healthcare, Social Welfare and Decent Working Environment 2030, a 10-year plan developed by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

The COVID pandemic has been a major challenge facing Georgia and the whole world, and Georgian doctors have exhibited exceptional professionalism in this process, the Head of Government said.

"It is a great honor to be addressing you. Firstly, I express my sincere gratitude to you for everything. On behalf of the Government in its entirety, I once again thank our esteemed, honorable doctors for their heroism. Your efforts have been invaluable for our citizens. As you know, the COVID pandemic has been a major challenge facing Georgia and the whole world, and you have exhibited amazing heroism, selflessness, and exceptional professionalism in this process, for which I once again thank you," Irakli Garibashvili addressed the doctors.

The Prime Minister, in his speech, discussed healthcare reforms and pointed out that access to healthcare is one of the Government's top priorities. According to the Head of Government, a lot has been done in this direction, though much remains to be accomplished as well.

"We have implemented numerous successful projects 2012. Suffice to mention the universal healthcare reform and the hugely successful hepatitis C elimination program. When we came to power, access to healthcare was a major problem, which does not exist anymore today-because Madam Minister and her team are working tirelessly toward that end. We have developed the initial 10-year development document. I would like to ask Ms. Tikaradze to detail during today's presentation how our Government sees the development of this system in general. Of course, your engagement in this process is very important, and I would like to ask you to engage actively in this process. Our task is to collaborate for a few months, eventually to produce a final paper that will serve as the framework document defining the key contours and priorities of our development," the Prime Minister said.

The presentation of Accessible Quality Healthcare, Social Welfare and Decent Working Environment 2030, a 10-year plan developed by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, was delivered by Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze. The event was attended by members of Georgia's executive and legislative authorities, and representatives of medicine and the diplomatic corps.
