How Much Was Inflation In Georgia in November?

In November 2021 the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.6% compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate amounted to 12.5%, - according to the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

The annual inflation rate was mainly influenced by price changes for the following groups:

Food and non-alcoholic beverages: the prices in the group increased by 17.0% contributing 5.35 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate. Within the group the prices increased for the following subgroups: oils and fats (27.7%), vegetables (26.2%), bread and cereals (20.4%), milk, cheese and eggs (17.9%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (17.4%), fish (16.0%), fruit and grapes (15.5%), mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (13.6%), meat (10.7 %), coffee, tea and cocoa (6.9%);

Transport: the prices increased by 20.2%, contributing 2.5 percentage points to the annual inflation rate. Within the group the prices increased for operation of personal transport equipment (30.1%) and transport services (2.6%). Along with this, the prices decreased
for purchase of vehicles (-3.3%);

Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels: the prices for the group posted an 11.5% higher for the following subgroups: electricity, gas and other fuels (14.2%), maintenance and repair of the dwelling (7.2%), water supply and miscellaneous services relating to the dwelling (4.5%). In the same period prices were lower for actual rentals for housing (-2.0%).
