MANILA, PHILIPPINES (4 December 2020) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $2.5 million grant to support Georgia’s ongoing response to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The COVID-19 Emergency Response Project grant, financed from ADB’s Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund (APDRF) with a contribution by the Government of Japan, will be used to provide lifesaving services for communities affected by the pandemic. These include increasing laboratory and diagnostic testing capacity and providing personal protective equipment and general medical equipment required for Georgia’s COVID-19 response.
