In an interview with The CheckPoints, Asian Development Bank's Country Director for Georgia, Shane Rosenthal, identified the importance of balanced policies in terms of economic lockdown.

"When you look around the world at countries that succeeded early on in keeping the disease at bay, they all have something in common, and Georgia is in that backlog of successful countries that restricted entry at the border. I think it's about a balance between opening up the economy and a responsible way and keeping the disease under control. And so far, what I see is, is that recipe at play here in Georgia,"- he said.

Rosenthal emphasized Georgia's potential to come back stronger next year despite the global uncertainty of the circumstances.
"We are confident that the country is well placed to come back strong next year once the world is ready because there are parts of this crisis that Georgia can control and other parts that are out of its control. Georgia needs to maintain its positioning as a safe, good place to visit, a good place to invest in, and a good place to live. And I think it's succeeding and doing that. We're optimistic," - he said.
