Business still demands delay of tax breaks for another 6 months. The Georgian Business Association sent an official letter to the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Business Ombudsman in October and issued another statement.

The Business Association notes that the income tax exemption, which was related to salaries of up to 1,500 GEL, should be extended for an additional 6 months. It must cover full year from May 1, 2020 to May 1, 2021; (6-month grace period expires at the end of October).

The Association also demands to write off deferred and accumulated income tax for tourism and hospitality industry based on the changes made to the Tax Code of Georgia on May 22 of this year. (Income and property taxes are deferred until December 1 of the current year).

Representatives of the hospitality sector fully share the requirements of the Georgian Business Association. Nino Zambakhidze, a member of the Adjara Group's supervisory board, told BM.GE that if the government does not continue to support business, the private sector will not be able to maintain neither employees nor businesses.
