Fady Asly, Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) responds to the local elections held on October 2 in Georgia. Fadi Asly published a Facebook post. The businessman notes, that after 24 years,he gives up today if 47% of the Georgian population has voted for corruption, nepotism, clientelism, xenophobia, homophobia, brain drain, unemployment, inflation, poverty, protectionism.

"Finally if 47% of the Georgian population has voted for corruption, nepotism, clientelism, xenophobia, homophobia, brain drain, unemployment, inflation, poverty, protectionism and for joining back Russia, who am I to oppose their will?

I have fought 24 years of my life for my adoptive country, so it can shine like a star among the stars, I believed in Georgia and I didn’t want to see it becoming a failed state like my own country of birth Lebanon.

Unfortunately I have failed, after sacrificing my business interests, my safety and my nerves.

After 24 years, I give up today, I will not comment anymore on the distorted government policies, I will not give interviews, I will not fight government, I will simply observe the Georgian Dream driving the whole country towards total failure.

I apologize to each and everyone of you for giving up, but I can't be Don Quixote fighting the windmills anymore",- Fadi Asly reprots.
