Air Traffic Recovered At 79% of 2019 – Deputy Minister

“It is unfortunate that despite some positive results, which are reflected in trends of the aviation sector, some people think that this is happening on its own and is not the result of proper management. I think this is a groundless assessment and on the contrary, we must be proud of the achieved results,” said Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy.

According to her, Georgia has one of the fastest recovery rates in the world and it does not happen on its own.

“In July 2021, we have returned 79% of the airlines that operated in Georgia in 2019. We also returned back 75% of those countries with which we have direct traffic. Air traffic is restored with 72% of destinations and flight frequencies are back to normal by 74%. I would also like to say that Batumi International Airport has 20% increase in July compared to 2019, "- said Kvrivishvili.
