Air Traffic Up By 53% In Q1 In Georgia

Georgian Civil Aviation Agency declares, that air traffic has increased by 53% compared to 2021, while the rate is 33% down compared to 2019. The Aviation Agency notes that in addition to Georgia, air traffic has got more active in other countries in 2022.

A total of 22 205 flights were fulfilled in the last three months, while the flight number stood at 14 497 in Georgia in the same period of 2021 and in 2019 – 33 183.

According to the statistics published by Eurocontrol, the number of daily flights to Georgia is 76% up since the start of the Russia-Ukraine War. The same statistics show that after Russia closes its airspace to EU countries, European airlines operate flights from the South to Asia.
