"The banking sector has already announced its readiness, and we are talking about a deferral of at least 3 months," said Alexander Dzneladze, President of the Banking Association, while talking about the deferral of loans in "Business Morning."

Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said that for people employed in the retail sector, who will temporarily lose their jobs due to restrictions and have bank liabilities, the state would negotiate with banks to defer loans.

Also, they will receive one-time assistance of 300 GEL under the government's social assistance program. As Dzneladze noted, those who stopped functioning during the current point lockdown will all be registered and included in the restructuring list.

"The banking sector is ready to talk to consumers about existing payments and defer liabilities. The postponement is about restructuring, which involves informing the individual so that the previous period's information vacuum is solved. What should the customer do? First of all, the users must be registered in the state social assistance lists and apply to the commercial bank for restructuring after that. Restructuring is not limited to three-month bank deferrals, but it can be up to four months. It is important to take into account the conditions in which consumers have to be," Dzneladze said.
