According to Levan Akhvlediani, General Director of Anaklia Consortium, there is no need for two deep-water ports in Georgia.
According to him, the government has already made a choice for Anaklia and now everything must be done to ensure that the project will be fully implemented.
“Georgia does not need two deep-water ports, as there is not enough demand on the market. Georgian government has made a choice for Anaklia Port. Therefore, I think that free economic zone and Anaklia Port are the parts of that vision.
This is an economically transformative project that our country needs. I believe that Georgia has made the right choice. There must be a national strategy and everything must be done to implement this strategy”, Akhvlediani said.
