Armenia’s Health Ministry is considering a possible enforcement of restrictions on visiting public places by unvaccinated citizens and those who cannot provide a negative PCR test, the press service of the Ministry of Health said.

Earlier mass media reports claimed that in the coming weeks, many public places in Armenia may be closed to citizens who do not have negative PCR tests or vaccination certificates, ARKA reports.

The press service of the ministry said the goal of the enforcement of restrictions is to reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus.

Asked to comment on reports spread on the Internet that because of a shortage of PCR tests the price of a test may rise to 20 thousand drams from the current 5 - 15 thousand drams, the press service said that the ministry is not vested with power to control the pricing policy of private medical institutions.

As of November 9, some 322,364 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Armenia. In general, 6,762 have people died from COVID-19, some 285,057 patients have recovered and another 29,203 patients are being treated at home or in hospitals.
