An Armenia-registered company was included in the sanctions list of the U.S. Department of Commerce in addition to the sanctions of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The company is called Tako LLC. It is blacklisted along with 27 other legal entities from Russia (10 companies), China (12), UAE (2), Uzbekistan (2), Syria, Turkey, Malta, Spain (one each).

The notice was published on the website of the US Federal Register. The sanctions will come into force on April 17.

The U.S. authorities believe that all of them continued to buy American goods for the needs of Russian companies that are already under U.S. sanctions.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the previous name (alias) of Tako LLC was Taco LLC (registered at 17, Garegin Nzhdeh Street, Shengavit, Yerevan, Armenia). This particular company came under U.S. Treasury sanctions in September 2022.

Taco LLC was designated as the Armenian partner of Russia's Radioavtomatika LLC (a supplier of electronic component base (ECB), which had its own testing laboratory for ECB certification tests). According to the U.S. Treasury Department, Taco was designated for having materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of Radioavtomatika.

In November 2022, Milur Electronics LLC, the Armenian subsidiary of chipmaker Milandr, was placed on a similar list.

Milur Electronics LLC, was designated as Armenia-based affiliate of Russian Milandr. The company was said to serve Milandr in a variety of ways by placing orders from foreign factories, producing microchips, and conducting overseas sales.

Milur Electronics was s essentially a front company for Milandr, the Treasury said, and was used to conduct business with foreign partners on its Russian partner’s behalf, ARKA reports.
