“We intend to increase wine production fivefold up to 60 million liters per year,’ Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said at a discussion of the draft state budget for the next year in parliament.

"We are planning big changes in the field of viticulture. The development of a five-year winemaking program is now at the final stage. It will soon be approved by the Board of Trustees of the Wine and Viticulture Fund," he said, ARKA reports.

Kerobyan stressed that this plan calls for a fivefold increase of the wine production in the next 5 years – from the current 12 million liters to 60 million liters.

According to the minister, after the completion of the winemaking development program, a five-year strategy for the development of brandy will be developed.
