Armenian consumer price index ups 8.3% in 7 months

Armenia's consumer price index (CPI) in the first seven months of 2022 was up 8.3% compared to the same period of 2021, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) said.

In July 2022, the annual CPI was up 9.3%.

Compared to June 2022 it was down 1.4%. According to the NSC, prices for industrial goods rose 6.3% in the first seven months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. In July 2022 this figure decreased by 2.2% from July 2021, and by 4.3% from June 2022.

Armenian government’s growth projection for 2022 is 7%, and the inflation is set at 4% (± 1.5%). Armenia's Central Bank revised earlier upwards the country's GDP growth forecast for the current year from 1.6% to 4.9%

Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan expects Armenia to end the current year with inflation exceeding 8%, ARKA reports.
