Armenia's foreign trade grows to over $2.9 billion

Armenia's foreign trade in the first 4 months of 2022 surged by 33.8% compared to the same period of time in 2021 to over $ 2.9 billion, according to the National Statistical Committee.

The foreign trade with CIS countries amounted to about $979.8 million, an increase of 34.1% compared to the same period of time last year. The largest foreign trade partners of Armenia were Russia ($903.3 million, an increase of 36.8% against the first four months of 2021), Belarus (about $28.4 million, an increase of 8.2%) and Ukraine (about $28.3 million, a decrease of 29.3%).

Armenia's foreign trade with EU countries amounted to about $578.3 million, growing by 28.9% year-on-year. The top five largest trade partners were Germany ($119.7 million, a 26.9% increase), the Netherlands ($89.7 million, a 71.4% increase), Italy ($87.8 million, an 8.4% increase), Bulgaria ($80 million, a 24.6% decrease) and Belgium ($42.1 million, a 61.9% increase).

Other major trade partners were China ($424.7 million, up 31.6%), Iran ($84 million, up 34.8%), Switzerland ($97.2 million, down 18.4%), USA ($91.4 million, up 62.7%), Iraq ($66.8 million, up 56.9%), and Georgia ($64.7 million, up 42%), ARKA reports.
