Armenia’s foreign trade soars by 44% in first half of 2022

Armenia's foreign trade in the first half of 2022 amounted to over $5.1 billion, having surged by 44% from the same period of time in 2021, according to the National Statistical Committee.

Armenia's foreign trade in June 2022 soared by 71% when compared to June 2021 and by 20.2% when compared to May 2022.

In Armenian drams, the first half foreign trade was worth about 2.4 trillion.

Armenia's exports rose 36.3% to about $1.9 billion. In June 2022, compared to June 2021, the increase was 68.1% and 38.2% compared to May 2022. In Armenian drams, exports totaled 869 billion.

Imports during the reporting period totaled about $3.3 billion, recording an increase of 48.7% compared to January-June 2021.

In June 2022, imports were up 73.1% compared to June 2021 and up 10.4% compared to May 2022. In drams they were worth about 1.5 trillion, ARKA reports.
