The allowable age for the AstraZeneca vaccine has been reduced from 55 to 45 years.

As the Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia stated after the meeting of the Council, tomorrow, from 20:00, citizens over 45 years of age will be able to register for the Astrazeneca vaccine.

"There was a special demand from the medical staff regarding the reduction of the age limit on AstraZeneca. We will continue to inform the population about all possible risks and complications, however, the complications that led various countries to decide to lower the age limit for vaccination of AstraZeneca are very rare," Tamar Gabunia said.

According to her, the experts considered that the vaccine will be safe for citizens over 45 years of age in Georgia.
