Karl Nehammer, Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria says on Monday, Georgia is an important economic partner for Austria. He announced this at the briefing after the meeting with Irakli Garibashvili while visiting Georgia.

He has also named these directions, which are attractive to Austrian companies in Georgia.

"Georgia is an important economic partner for us. There are many opportunities to attract Austrian investors. The economic development data of Georgia are very impressive when we talk about the development of the economic market, tourism, as well as energy generation, Georgia is a really interesting partner for Austrian companies. There is a cooperation between "Rauf" and "Healthy Water", which brings a kind of know-how to the country, and together we achieve impressive success," said Nehammer.

As of 2021, Austrian investments in the country amounted to USD 7.5 million, which was 0.6% of the total FDI of the reporting period.
