Koba Gvenetadze, the President of the National Bank of Georgia, spoke about the inflation forecasts for 2022 at the meeting of the Budget and Finance Committee.

According to Gvenetadze, inflation will start to decrease from the spring of next year, and by the end of the year the target rate will approach 3%.

"In the current situation, we think that the average inflation in 2021 will be 9.7%. Inflation will amount to 14.2% at the end of this month, but it may be lower due to the adjusted oil prices and stable exchange rate. However, I cannot say it exactly. As for 2022, we think the average inflation will be 7.2% and by the end of the year, the target rate will approach 3%. I do not want to deceive anyone, it is just a prediction", - said Gvenetadze.
