In 2Q2021, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by GEL 177.9 compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to GEL 1,328, - preliminary data show from Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The average monthly nominal accrued wages of GEL 1,328 means that the average salary received by citizens is GEL 1,062, while the average income tax paid by one employee is GEL 265.6 per month.
According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
• Financial and insurance activities – GEL 2 354.7 (increased by 15.4 % compared to the corresponding period of the previous year);
• Information and communication – GEL 2 173.0 (increased by 12.4%);
• Construction – GEL 2 006.1 (increased by 23.7%);
• Professional, scientific and technical activities – GEL 1 919.5 (increased by 7.4%)
“In the II quarter of 2021, the average earnings equaled to GEL 1 077.8 for women, while GEL 1 560.0 for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to GEL 153.6 for women and GEL 207.6 for men. In the majority of sectors of economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women.
In 2Q2021, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by GEL 214.0 and equaled to GEL 1 389.6. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the Information and communication (GEL2 209.4, increased by 12.0 % compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Professional, scientific and technical activities (GEL2 177.4.0, increased by 6.55%)”, - the report reads.
