In January-March 2022, the average monthly salary of hired workers in the economy amounted to 809 manats ($475), up 13.4% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

As of April 1, 2022, the number of wage workers in the economy climbed by 23,100 people, or 1.4%, to 1,702,800. Of them, 905,000 people were in the state sector, and 779,800 - in the private sector.

Among the hired workers, 19.6% occupied positions in education, 18.7% in trade; repair of transport vehicles, 12.6% in the industrial sector, 8.2% in medical and social services provided to the population, 7.3% in construction, 6.6% in state management and defence; social security, 4.3% in transport and storage, 3.4% in professional, scientific and technical activity, 3.5% in agriculture, forestry and fishery, 1.9% in finance and insurance, 13.9% - other economic spheres.
