The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to AZN 1,028.5 million (US$ 605 million) in January-May 2021, up 0.1% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 2.2%, settling at AZN 156.1 million.
Azerbaijan produced 10,226.3 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 2% from the previous year.
Of this, 642.9 million kWh was produced at hydropower plants, up 19.8% by contrast to a year ago.
Heating power stations produced 9,206.8 million kWh of energy, 1.1% more than in 2020.
Wind power production fell 14.1% to 37.9 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 12% to 19.6 million kWh.
