The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to AZN 1,608.3 million (US$946,058,817) in January-August 2021, up 5.4% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 11%, settling at AZN 281.2 million (US$165,411,764).
Azerbaijan produced 17,467.8 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 7.2% from the previous year.
Of this, 945 million kWh was produced at hydropower plants, 14.3% higher than a year ago.
Heating power stations produced 15,897.2 million kWh of energy, 7.2% more than in 2020.
Wind power production fell 16.9% to 57.2 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 16.1% to 37.4 million kWh.
