During January-April 2021, Azerbaijan has increased its electricity export by 53.8 million kW/h, reaching 554.5 million kW/h. With 499.8 million kW/h Georgia was the top export market for Azerbaijan.
Electricity exports from Azerbaijan for the four months of this year increased by 53.8 million kW/h compared to the same period last year, amounting to 554.5 million kW/h. Some 10.8 million kW/h were exported to Iran, 12.7 million kW/h to Turkey, 31.2 million kW/h to Russia, and 499.8 million kW/h to Georgia, REPORT informs.
In January-April this year, electricity imports of Azerbaijan amounted to 47.2 million kW/h. During this time, 10.8 million kW/h were imported from Iran, 32 million kW/h from Russia and 4.4 million kW/h from Georgia.
In April this year, the export of electricity in Azerbaijan amounted to 47.5 million kW/h, and imports to 15 million kW/h, Report informs referring to the Energy Ministry.
As of March 2021, the price of the energy exported by Azerbaijan stood at $0.04 or AZN 0.07 for one kWh, which means during the first four months of the current year Azerbaijan, earned US$ 22.1 million from electricity export.
