Batumi International Airport is the first after the pandemic, where the number of transported passengers has increased. According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava, Batumi Airport received 16% more passengers in the first five months of this year, January-May, compared to the same period in 2020.

"It is noteworthy that at Batumi International Airport today, there are 100-105 flights a week, which is about the same as in the same period in 2019. This is a very good sign. We expect that Tbilisi and Kutaisi international airports will soon reach the pre-pandemic level," Natia Turnava said.

It should be noted that Batumi Airport regained 41% of the passenger flow rate, which it had in the first five months of 2019. In June, Batumi International Airport completed the same number of flights as the most active and growing air traffic in 2019 (100-105 frequencies per week).
