Zugdidi received 3,100 dozes of AstraZeneca vaccine

Zugdidi received the first batch of AstraZeneca vaccine. According to Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor Administration, healthcare workers can get the COVID-19 jab at the Zugdidi Referral Hospital Evex clinics.

"We started vaccination in our region from Zugdidi today. 3100 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in the region, each vaccine has already been distributed in the municipalities and from March 18, the vaccination will start in all the municipalities. All medical staff engaged in the vaccination process have undergone relevant training and all municipalities are ready to conduct vaccinations. I call on all representatives of the medical field to register and get vaccinated,” said Malkhaz Toria, State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti.

Georgia started to roll out the COVID-19 vaccination today. Healthcare workers will be vaccinated at the first stage, who have registered on a special portal.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of March 14, 1449 healthcare workers booked a visit from the platform.

On March 15, Paata Imnadze, head of the National Center for Disease Control, was publicly vaccinated at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital.

According to Tsertsvadze, he has no doubt that 43,000 doses of the vaccine will be consumed in just two weeks and there will be no delay, as the vaccination pace is already mood.

The first batch of AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus was imported in Georgia on March 13.
