Tbilisi Milk Factory LLC launched a milk processing plant in the Tbilisi Industrial Zone with a Belarusian investment in May 2020. According to Alexander Lehan, director of Tbilisi Milk Factory LLC was launched with the active involvement and support of the state structures of both countries.

"The investment project Tbilisi Milk Factory LLC is implemented and launched with the support of the Georgian and Belarusian governments. Belarusian investors took the decision last year in Tbilisi.

The project was carried out with the involvement of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia and the Embassy of Belarus in Georgia.

Its main financial and technological investor is a group of well-known Belarusian companies, which manages up to 10 dairy plants. Belarus, with many years of experience in milk processing, today holds leading positions in the world in terms of production of dairy products, including the diversity, high quality and production volumes," - the director of the company noted in the interview with BM.GE.

The company invested 850,000 EUR in the first phase of the factory launch; the enterprise processes 40 tons of raw milk daily and employs 59 people.

"Today, the enterprise produces 10 types of traditional Georgian cheese; In the coming years, various products made from raw milk will be added to the list, which will be aimed at different categories of consumers. The high quality and safety of manufactured products will remain unchanged.

Belarusian and European standards, as well as Georgian traditions, are used in the process of Georgian cheese production. Our products comply with the HACCP standards and meet the regulations of Georgian law. Today, products are sold at the stores in Tbilisi and Rustavi," said Alexander Lehan.

Belarusian investors plan to develop their business, diversify their products and create jobs in the future, for which they have a 4-year plan.

"Based on the objective assessment of the economic situation in the country, taking into account the state interests in the development of the sector, the company Tbilisi Milk Factory LLC plans to invest 2,440,000 EUR in production in 2021-2025, which will create more than 40 jobs, increase factory productivity and the list of products will be tripled, "said Alexander Lehan.
