Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, on Monday, said the government started to implement a strategic project with an engagement of the EU. It is a Black Sea Submarine Electricity Transmission Cable.

At a joint press point with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, the PM stressed that 4 countries – Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary – are engaged in the initiative, which may turn into a vivid and exemplary project.

"I also wish to note that we have now started to implement a strategic project with an engagement of the EU. It is a Black Sea Submarine Electricity Transmission Cable. The Work Group has already been established and 4 countries – Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania and Hungary – are engaged in the initiative, as you may well be aware, Federal Chancellor. It may turn into a vivid and exemplary project. We highly value connectivity and it is one of the key priorities for our Government. These and other projects will, of course, help Georgia in gaining a greater integration with the EU market, in becoming more independent. We should jointly strengthen the degree of mutual dependence,” - PM said.
