Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze declares that a 2% budget deficit will be optimal for Georgia, but it is impossible for 2022.
"The deficit is problematic; we want to reduce it. Zero deficit will probably not be acceptable for our current economy, but if we bring the deficit in the range of 2-2.5%, it will be a really optimal option, but it is impossible in 2022. The budget deficit should be down to 2% in two years or for 2024," said Giorgi Kakauridze.
The state budget deficit is planned at 4.3% for the next year.
