The Kazakh side is working with the government of Adjara on the issue of construction additional railway road to the berths of the port, - the Kazakh ambassador announced during his visit to Batumi Oil Terminal and Batumi Sea Port. Ambassador Malik Murzalini visited the port last week.

Against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine war, the cargo turnover in Batumi port has increased.

According to the preliminary data of the sea port, 1.7 million tons of dry cargo was processed in the port in 2022, which was 500 thousand tons or 41% more than the figure of 2021.

Refinement of oil and oil products amounted to 2 million tons, the growth is 33% y-o-y.

The number of recycled containers increased from 99 187 units to 119 471 units. Last year, the port received 581 ships.
