According to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, his personal representative, Christian Danielsson, will return to Georgia "to continue mediation".
Charles Michel wrote about it on his Twitter page.
"Took stock of the progress already achieved in Georgia mediation with Christian Danielsson. Time to make the necessary compromises in the interest of the citizens of Georgia. Envoy will travel back to continue mediation." He wrote.
Christian Danielson arrived in Georgia on March 12 and held meetings for 7 days.
During these days, he met with members of the Georgian Dream, President Salome Zurabishvili, leaders of the opposition party, and representatives of the civil sector. At the same time, Prime Minister Gharibashvili met with Charles Michel several times in Brussels.
On March 18, Christian Danielson mediated a 9-hour meeting between the opposition and the Georgian Dream. However, the parties could not agree. Danielson returned to Brussels to report on the talks.
