The local toy manufacturing company Chikatai will sell its products in Australia and Italy, the founder of the company, Tamar Buiglishvili, told BM.GE. As she noted, "Chikatai" plans to increase its production after entering the export markets in 2023.
"550 units have already been prepared for exports to Australia. This was quite a large order for our small enterprise, due to which the company ended the year with growth.
With the support of Enterprise Georgia, we were in Florence at the Pitti Immagine Bimbo 2023 international exhibition. In general, exhibitions are very important for us, because we meet with the media and representatives of our sector, as well as international buyers and the brand awareness in the international market increases," said Tamar Buiglishvili.
Accoridng to the founder of the company, in 2022, along with the news, there were many challenges, including the complication of importing raw materials and the increase in their fees.
"It is quite difficult to find certified products in Georgia, so we have to import them, and in the background of the current events worldwide, everything has become very difficult and expensive, so we have increased our product price by 10-15%", - explains Buiglishvili.
Chikatai products are sold on the local market in their workshops and children's concept stores, and their price varies from GEL 85 to GEL 210.
The company currently employs 5 people, and plans to hire 6 new staff after expansion.
