Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili met Mr Maciej Czura, Head of EIB's Regional Representation for the South Caucasus. The sides considered fields of cooperation at the meeting.
The EIB positively evaluated investments made in public as well as private sector. The sides highlighted the EIB’s financial support in terms of modernization of the East-West Highway.
The Minister of Finance thanked the Head of EIB's Regional Representation for the South Caucasus for the financial assistance provided by the EIB against the Covid-19 pandemic, which made it possible to improve basic medical infrastructure and procure the necessary medical equipment for the healthcare system.
According to the head of the EIB regional office, the bank will continue to support the country in terms of both financing and rapprochement with the EU.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to intensify cooperation.
As of today, the EIB has funded approximately € 2 billion worth projects in the public and private sectors of the country.
