Cooperative Pomona, which is engaged in fruit production, will launch a refrigeration farm this spring.
Giorgi Purtseladze, the founder of Pomona, told bm.ge that they will be able to store 600 tons of fruit in the refrigerator farm.
As for the volume of the harvest, according to Giorgi Purtseladze, the gardens of "Pomona" will be fully grown in 3 years, after which the cooperative will harvest 500 tons of apples, 50 tons of pears and 30 tons of sweet cherries.
"The construction of the refrigerator farm will be completed soon. We will be able to store 600 tons of fruit here. Our main destination is the local market. Exports are very important, but as long as we do not have a refrigerator, it is difficult to talk about it. We will start working in this direction from next year. "We want to bring the product to the European market," explains the founder of Pomona.
The total investment for the arrangement of the refrigerator farm is GEL 1 250 000.
