Paata Imnadze, deputy head of the National Center for Disease Control, believes that when there are enough vaccines in the country, there should be no more discussions about "lockdowns". Imnadze stated about it on "Rustavi 2".

"There was a stage when restrictions were the only solution. By all accounts, the restrictions imposed last spring have saved at least 10,000 lives in this country, but now is a different time - now we have a vaccine. Restrictions will become necessary if the medical sector can no longer withstand the workload. So the people should get vaccinated. The country cannot stop functioning," - Imnadze said.

He also spoke about the peak of the number of infected people in August and once again noted that there were five times more patients in Georgia than in India.

"Our healthcare system has endured five times more. Even now we are going in such a way that in a little while the exact same thing will be repeated as it was in August and it may be a little difficult. We may have more patients than we had in August," Imnadze said.

According to the deputy head of the NCDC, "the coronavirus will find everyone who is not immune and will infect everyone." No one should hope that anyone will hide from Coronavirus," Imnadze said.
