Georgian government will offer construction companies 1.5-2 billion GEL projects in 2022. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced on Monday.
The PM originally announced the Government's initiative on February 14, revealing his team would offer developer companies on the Georgian market guaranteed construction orders to ensure 1-2 percent additional economic growth through attraction of new finances from banks for the developers.
"We started working to accelerate economic growth and improve public infrastructure, we offered the construction sector to attract additional financial resources to receive additional orders. Numerous meetings were held on this issue under the leadership of Levan Davitashvili, all ministries sent a list of facilities that will be built or rehabilitated. This year we will have to offer construction companies 1.5-2 billion GEL projects in 2022. The projects were presented by the Ministries of Defense, Health, Infrastructure, Agriculture, MIA. For example, Mikheil Chkhenkeli has 800 schools to be renovated in order to make all schools a common standard.
This is a very good offer for the business, on the one hand, the government will implement its own projects and on the other - the business will benefit from this and accelerate economic growth. It is generally a very useful initiative and these projects provide for the creation of thousands of jobs.
The Minister of Economy will have final meetings during the week and we want to announce these projects next week", - Garibashvili declared.
