On 7-11 November, on the border crossing points of “Tsiteli Khidi” and “Sarpi”, the fact of illegal importation of cigarettes has been prevented.
Customs officers of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, based on suspicion, upon physical inspection of nationals of Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, have revealed 6 000 units of cigarettes, in total.
As a result of these facts, Georgian citizens were deprived of the goods, means of transportation and were fined by the amount of 10 000 GEL. According to para.3 of Article 168 the Customs Code of Georgia, other parties to the violation were also deprived of the goods and each of them was subject to monetary penalties.
