Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said his decision as the Minister of Energy didn't cause any damage to Georgia but saved the population's money. He noted it while commenting about the lost dispute regarding InterRao.

"We reduced electricity tariffs, which benefited the population of our country and especially the capital city. When I talk about the country, I mean the company "EnergoPro", which was also involved in the process of reducing tariffs. As for the dispute, "InterRao" demanded about USD 200 million, which we did not agree with. Can you imagine what would happen if I signed for "InterRao" to receive USD 200 million and what would happen to me?

Accordingly, we thought that 200 million did not belong to this company, and directly told them that we would dispute it. Accordingly, there was a discussion in the arbitration and we were charged much less instead of 200 million", said Kakha Kaladze.
