Ukrainians in September 2021 registered 54,300 used cars imported from abroad, which is 1.5 times more than in September 2020, the Ukrautoprom, Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association has reported.
According to the report, the share of used foreign cars last month was 85% of all passenger cars registered in Ukraine for the first time, Ukrinform reports.
The most popular used car of the month was the Volkswagen Passat, with 3,500 such cars registered in Ukraine in September 2021. In second place was the Volkswagen Golf, with 3,000 cars purchased in September. The Renault Megane came in third, with 2,949 cars registered last month. Forth was by the Skoda Octavia, with 2,668 cars of this model bought in Ukraine in September 2021. In fifth place was the Ford Focus with 1,792 registrations.
In total, 355,600 used imported cars were registered in Ukraine in January-September 2021, which is 47% more than in the same period of 2020 and 4.7 times more than new cars purchased in Ukraine in the first nine months of 2021.
Some 9,400 new cars were registered in Ukraine in September 2021, almost a quarter more than in September 2020.
