According to Georgian Dream, so-called draft laws on agents have already been called back from the Venice Commission, and the draft adopted in the first reading will be brought back to the plenary session and will be dropped in the second reading.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, the chairman of the faction of the ruling team, stated about it at the briefing held in the office of Georgian Dream.

"The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia has already sent his letter to the Venice Commission about the callback of the draft laws, therefore, we are no longer asking the Venice Commission to discuss these draft laws and send a conclusion. One draft law, and this was procedurally possible, has already been withdrawn by People's Power and a letter has been sent to the Parliament of Georgia, in the name of the Speaker of the Parliament, as it happens procedurally, stating that it has been withdrawn. As for the second issue, maybe this is a formality, but they have written a letter that they refuse to support this bill. As for the ways of withdrawal of the draft law, which was discussed in the first reading, as a rule, according to the regulations of Georgia, it will be brought to the second reading and then will be dropped in the second reading. I am once again making a political statement about this and confirming it. Dropping it will solve this issue procedurally," said Mdinaradze.
